the legendary French automaker, Citroen, began making trucks in 1929 with a 1.8 litre 4 cylinder petrol-engined 1-tonner. Within a few years, the company had expanded its lines to include a 1 3/4 tonner, a 2-tonner, a 22-seat coach, a 3/4 ton six wheeler and a 5-1/2 ton tractor. In 1947, the company introduced it's "H" series of trucks. These trucks were 23' cwt payload delivery vans and they were used in a variety of situations. The original H series vans were recognizable by their snub-nose front and corrugated body panels. They had torsion-bar rear suspension and a 35 bhp version of the Citroen 11CV passenger car. These vans were highly versatile with plenty of space inside and on the roof to tackle the most important tasks.
